Last week the local Dementia Hub were treated to a really fun musical morning by the members of the U3A ukulele band. It was a great morning and both carers and those living with dementia enjoyed the musical inter action. It was really generous of the band members to volunteer their time to entertain our group in this way. Many of the members are friends and clients known to me and I know this meant a great deal to everyone who attended.
Music is an easy way to communicate and include everyone whatever their personal restrictions may be. On Friday we even had an impromptu sing along with the band members after they had packed their instruments away. I hope they realise just how grateful we all were for giving us such a happy experience.
We hope to entice them back again…with the lure of cakes.
