Bhaktivedanta Manor -Open Day

I am almost ashamed to admit I had never visited this beautiful manor and grounds until today. My guests and I were made very welcome by the staff and monks and had an interesting time.

The open day had something for everyone, plenty for the children too. I joined my great nephew in having my hand painted and enjoyed a veggie lunch on the lawns listening to the musicians in the sunshine.

The grounds were lovely and the weather made it possible to explore the various gardens and even take in a ride with the working Oxon.

We plan to return on one of the Saturday meditation days and would encourage others to look at their website to see forthcoming events. http://www.krishnawisdom.com

Eudaimonia -being your best self

I know a lot of people that will admit to being a glass half empty person and have no intentions of changing that status. For those of us that are optimists and run their lives from a positive position we find this a strange concept.

I read with interest this weekend that optimism can be hereditary and the rest we can opt to be and/or learn which affirms to me to a certain degree we do still have a choice.

Life is indeed short and we don’t know what is round the next corner or what life holds in store, but by adopting a positive attitude it will give us a better chance of coping with the negative aspects.

As Aristotle said: True happiness was not feeling good but eudaimonia’

With ‘eu’ meaning good and ‘daimon’ meaning spirit.

He also had the same mantra as my amazing Mother ‘be true to oneself’ which is indeed the road to wellness and an excellent point to start the week on.

Positive energy

Is it real or is it a myth that we tend to feel in a better mood Friday morning? Today of course this feeling is likely to be enhanced as the sun is shining which immediately encourages us to think…anything is possible, which of course it is.

There is no doubt that more and more people seem to be coming more spiritually aware, looking  for alternative ways of applying and expanding their people skills.

NLP may well be the answer for many and more and more sectors are looking towards applying these holistic ways to business and health recovery.

It isn’t a secret that being positive helps the human body in more ways than one…and not just because it is Friday and it’s the weekend.

Stay positive and drink plenty of water get the body and mind balance right.

The Little Book of Kisses

What started as random posts on my blog turned into a fun subject to research and an opportunity to remember funny anecdotes of being in love…and being kissed!

‘The Little Book of Kisses’ is now in the hands of my agent and here’s hoping we get this out in time for National Kissing Day or International Kissing Day!

I also enjoyed learning just how healthy kissing is for us and want to encourage more kissing before it truly does become a dying art….as my book concludes;

‘In a world that has become dominated by politics and conflict world-wide it doesn’t hurt to find a way to have something to giggle about. If I became in part responsible for more kissing on the planet then my work here is done!’
