First impressions

Rightly or wrongly we all tend to make a decision about a person and/or a company based on our initial experience. A first impression can be the difference between starting a long term relationship or doing business with an organisation…or not.

I was very surprised to receive a two line email response from an organisation that was full of typo’s, words missing from the reply so it hardly made sense and my requests had been more or less ignored. I wonder how the management would feel if they knew their staff were putting off new prospects this way?

The question one asks is whether we should tell the said organisation how poorly their staff view their own role and their services -or simply go elsewhere?

First impressions are important but surely in our everyday life and work we should aim to give our best to those we encounter and at least have a bit of self-pride in what we do.
